Progressive Music Orlando’s Director is Cary Bobbitt.  Originally from Memphis, TN, Cary has a Bachelor or Arts degree with an emphasis on Music Business, from the University of Memphis.

 As a percussionist, Cary marched with Drum Corps International’s Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, from Canton, OH.  He was also section leader of the University of Memphis drum line.  While at Memphis, the drum line competed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) drum line competition two times.  Memphis’ best finish was 2^nd place while winning top section honors in snare and bass drum.  In rudimental drumming, this convention includes the best percussion ensembles in the world.

Cary taught private drum lessons at the Memphis Drum Shop for several years.  Cary also was the head drum instructor at John Overton High School and Kirby High School.  During the 5+ years as drum instructor, more than 15 students received full paid music scholarships to various schools. Some of Cary’s former students include Band Directors, professional touring musicians, playing with such acts as Victor Wooten, Donna Summer, Ann Peebles, and Jimmy Jam.
